Would you take on an Apprentice? Funding Available
Apprenticeships are increasingly being recognised as the gold standard for work-based learning. Rutland Adult Learning has secured additional funding for businesses that are willing to take on an apprentice who is currently not in education, employment or training (NEET). These Apprenticeships are open to anyone who is 16 – 24 years of age and for an initial period the employer contribution to training costs will be waived. However this funding will only fund a maximum of 10 apprentices so if you are interested in taking on an apprentice within your business please contact me as soon as possible. If you want to take on an apprentice who is not eligible for the free training the training costs will be a competitive rate of £250, this can also cover existing employees who require training.
As an Employer how will I benefit?
An apprentice can help make your organisation more effective and fill in your company’s skills gap. Apprenticeships can especially be pivotal to the success of Small to Medium Enterprises, and apprentices can deliver real returns to your bottom line due to lower overall training and recruitment costs. We can deliver Intermediate (Level 2) or Advanced (Level 3) apprenticeships. The apprenticeship frameworks cover a comprehensive suite of qualifications which may include a combination of the following: · A certificate or diploma which covers competence and some knowledge · A technical certificate which will cover knowledge · Functional skills Numeracy, Literacy and ICT · Employer Rights and Responsibilities · Personal Learning and Thinking Skills
How much will it cost me to take on an apprentice?
As mentioned above the training costs will be completely free if you take on a NEET apprentice. You will also have to pay the apprentice a minimum wage of £2.60 per hour (or more if you wish) and employ them for 30 hours per week or more. How long will the apprenticeship last? Usually the apprenticeships will last for 12-18 months depending upon whether it is intermediate or advanced and the subject taken.
