First Impressions (Uppingham) A History of the Written Word
An exciting new project based in Uppingham, Rutland. The project is to build a gallery, exhibition area, cafe, printing workshop and community hub facility in the grounds of Welland Vale Nurseries. The Community Hub is the subject of separate consultation. The site will be linked to Uppingham Town Centre via a roadside heritage trail.This project is one of a number planned by Uppingham First, the new Community Partnership. First Impressions(Uppingham) is a company limited by guarantee and is currently seeking registration as a charity. Project Exhibition Planned for 2010
The Board of First Impressions (Uppingham) hope to be in a position to mount a public exhibition of the project's aims and objectives this autumn. On show will be an initial architect's design for the building together with some of the printing equipment it is hoped to exhibit and demonstrate on a permanent basis. |

Who is Funding the Project?
Celebrated local artist Alan Oliver has prepared this artist's impression of the new building prior to community consultation about the Community Hub. This is likely to be a two storey extension built to the latest environmental standards.
